Stain

Sad days for my eastern european brothers who want to become part of Europe. My heart is with them.
A recessive trait usually stays quiet underneath masses of skin, eye, mouth, hair. Underneath the dominant trait that speaks loudly. Underneath the dominant piece composed mostly of strong will that fights against the current (sometimes with it) and screams out until it's established.
Missing home is a bit like an unexpressed recessive trait. A stranger won't see it, it isn't painted anywhere on the face. But deep down, erased, forgotten, never allowed to speak, infused in blood perfume and human tint, it pulses. It hurts and it stays. It stains.
